The Orion School is now a strategic partner with The West Atlanta Watershed Authority. We had an informative and engaging curriculum extension visit there yesterday were we saw aquaponic gardening first hand, a first rain garden, a frog pond and "pet" hissing cockroaches. We are going to partner to work together to alleviate watershed issues in and around the school. Our friends at WAWA are also going to help us get more rain barrels so we can collect even more water for our growing Greenspace with Grace outdoor classroom!

The story of a bird habitat
First we grow gourds...
Then we cut holes in them, clean them out and let them dry...
Then we paint them...
Then we hang them and...
Hope a little friend finds it and moves in...
Chatman and Turner with our little girls
In addition to our three Orpington hens we now have two buff brahma bantam hens and one silky hen. Chatman and Turner are trying to pet our pets. Disclaimer: no animals were hurt in the taking of this photo ;)

Our Greenspace with Grace Orchard now has 4 fruit trees...a peach tree, a pear tree, a gala apple tree, and our newest addition...a white fig tree. Thanks again Garden Hood ~ can't wait to taste these yummy fruits!
Greenspace with Grace has 9 new pets!
Thank you so much to Amy Foster and Garden Hood for bringing us a beautiful dill plant with little friends living on it. These caterpillars were little yellow eggs when we met them last Thursday. Now look at them! We've got 9 monarch caterpillars eating and growing in our space. Can't wait to see what happens next...
